The first full week after Thanksgiving was the worst yet of the early flu season, with more than a third of flu hospitalizations and deaths for the year coming last week. The CDC says such sharp increases are common two months into the season, and while flu season started early this year, it's still too soon to tell whether this year's flu season will end up being more severe.
