A man and a two year old child are in hospital after being hit by a train at Garrowhill station.

Police have said the man is in serious condition while the child’s injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

The British Transport Police are now appealing to witnesses who they have not yet spoken to to get in touch to aid in their investigation.

Next, staff at the city’s 13th Note have voted to go on strike over pay and health and safety concerns, which will be the first industrial action taken by pub workers in the UK in over 20 years.

The strike will begin on 14 July and will continue for every weekend until 6 August unless union members accept an offer from their employer.

The owner said any health and safety had been dealt with and employees were paid above the living wage.

And in other news, Thorncroft Post Office has reopened after being forced to close in February.

Now under new management, it will be open from Monday to Friday from 9am to 5.30pm.

A spokesperson for the Post Office said they are delighted to have restored the services as they know how important it is to the community.
