Guyana's government and representatives of its private sector are calling on this country's government to intervene in what they say is Trinidad and Tobago's rejection of dairy products from Guyana.
The company involved has confirmed that it did meet with officials from this country's Trade Ministry on the matter.
However, Demerara Distillers Limited is claiming that its products are being subjected to "an extremely onerous and stringent" process which is not applied to similar products exported by this country to Guyana.
