During an event in Kyiv, Ukraine’s president Volodymyr Zelenskyy says the country’s major incursion into Russia's Kursk region was part of a systematic effort to end the 30-month-old war on Kyiv's terms.
He says the August 6 incursion, as well as Ukrainian defenses in the country's east where Russia has concentrated its offensive push were part of a path "to end the war under the conditions of an independent Ukraine".
