Disney and Fubo announced a merger combining their Hulu+ Live TV and Fubo streaming services. Disney will hold a 70% stake in the resulting publicly traded company, with Fubo shareholders owning the remaining 30%. The deal is expected to close within 12 to 18 months and will maintain Hulu+ Live TV and Fubo as separate services. Together, the platforms serve 6.2 million subscribers. Fubo specializes in sports and news content, offering regional sports networks that feature local professional games and command high distributor fees. Fubo’s stock surged 250%.
