In a significant policy update, Canada’s Immigration Minister Marc Miller has announced that Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA)-based job offers will no longer carry additional Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) points under the Express Entry program starting in spring 2025.This reform is expected to reshape the pathway to permanent residency by focusing more on merit and human capital factors while addressing fraudulent practices in the LMIA process.
