President Donald Trump issued an executive order Wednesday directing federal agencies to prioritize funding for school choice programs. The order instructs the Secretaries of Education and Labor to review discretionary grant programs and submit plans for expanding school choice initiatives. The Department of Education must provide guidance on federal funding formulas to support K-12 scholarship programs. At the same time, Health and Human Services will outline how states can allocate block grants for private and faith-based schools. A federal judge has issued a stay on the order.
