Mr. Cross is a fictional character in a planned series of short videos. He has two roles. First, he will provide commentary on the construction of sets, props, and puppets for the series. Then he will portray an elderly man who lives alone in a farmworker's cabin in a small town.
This is the first time Mr. Cross has been animated, and it is the animator's first ever animation. There are many technical problems with this animation. The sun went down, resulting in a darker second half of the video. The tripod was bumped. There are reflections in the metal locker paint. More work was needed to block out the moves. It could have been animated on twos. White Balance, exposure and lighting were not ideal. Who knows what else is wrong. Comments are welcome. Hopefully the next episodes will learn from these mistakes and the quality will improve.
After three years of part time building and planning, it's time to start making and perfection isn't required. Remembering Corita Kent, "We have no art. We do everything as well as we can."
