India Woos Algeria, Tanzania, Zambia to Boost Defence Cooperation |

India has held bilateral defence talks with delegations from Algeria, Tanzania, Zambia and South Sudan on the sidelines of its biggest air show, Aero India 2025. The talks with the delegations included ways to boost defence partnerships, counter growing terrorism, and improve capacity building and training programmes. The discussions come as India looks to enhance its defence footprint in the continent, which has also been importing weapons from Russia, the U.S., China, Turkiye and Europe. India currently exports only small arms, offshore patrol vessels, helicopters and armoured personnel carriers to African nations at a cheaper cost. Beyond defence exports, India has also increased the number of defence advisors at its embassies across Africa. Watch the video for more.
