The Department of Homeland Security fired four FEMA officials accused of making payments for migrant housing in what Elon Musk called “luxury hotels” in New York City. The firings included the agency’s chief financial officer, two program analysts, and a grant specialist, whom DHS labeled “deep state activists.” The funds came from FEMA’s grant program, which Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency alleged spent over $50 million on migrant housing in violation of Trump’s immigration crackdown order. Trump, who has criticized FEMA for handling funds, called for the agency to be “TERMINATED” in a Truth Social post.
