Trump discusses Ukraine peace talks, TikTok sale and possible government shutdown
US President Donald Trump addressed a range of topics aboard Air Force One on Sunday, March 9, as he traveled to Washington, D.C., after spending the weekend in Florida.
Speaking to reporters on the flight, Trump said he expects positive outcomes from US talks with Ukrainian officials in Saudi Arabia. He also noted that his administration has nearly lifted an intelligence pause on Ukraine and is reviewing various tariff measures on Russia. Additionally, he downplayed concerns over joint military exercises involving Russia, China, and Iran.
On the possibility of a government shutdown, Trump said he doesn’t expect one, adding that he believes the House of Representatives will secure enough votes to pass a funding bill through September 30.
