Tensions erupted in Bucharest as supporters of far-right presidential candidate Calin Georgescu clashed with police after news broke that he was barred from standing in the re-run of Romania's presidential election. Protesters rallied outside the election authority, setting structures on fire and condemning the decision as undemocratic. The rejection can still be challenged at Romania's Constitutional Court.
