An unidentified man threw acid on Narsingh Rao, an accountant at Sri Bhulakshmi Ammavari Temple in Saidabad, Hyderabad. Rao, a resident of Lakshmi Nagar Colony, had been working at the temple for several years.
The attack took place when the assailant approached him under the pretense of performing an archana and homa. As Rao was preparing the receipt book, the attacker suddenly threw acid on him and fled on a motorcycle.
Locals and worshippers gathered at the temple, demanding swift justice. Hindu organizations staged protests, calling for the immediate arrest and strict punishment of the attacker. Following the unrest, police increased security around the temple.
Rao was rushed to Malakpet Yashoda Hospital, where he is undergoing treatment. The Hyderabad Police are analyzing CCTV footage for leads, and a case has been registered as the investigation continues.
