A Winter Wellbeing performance reflecting on the position and work of musicians through 2020 during the covid-19 pandemic. The beauty and brightness of Vivaldi’s music is the perfect display of how music as an art form has the power to transcend and bring joy. The text of the ‘Nisi Dominus’ is re-interpreted in a contemporary context as a meditation for this period of time - a time when although musicians felt that their work and profession was all in vain - concerts cancelled, careers halted, halls closed and ensembles and orchestras unable to meet - love of music persevered nonetheless and in spite of these severe setbacks. This performance is a testimony to the emotional journey though they year of 2020, and the perseverance of musicians through their faith in the power of music.
