With the financial year's end approaching, banking operations are undergoing necessary adjustments. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has provided directives to ensure smooth processing of government-related payments and tax collections. Nevertheless, customers are questioning whether banks will be open for normal transactions on March 29, 30 and 31, given the cluster of holidays. All banks shall remain open on March 29, Saturday. Generally, banks remain shut on Sundays. However, on March 30, Sunday, select banks like SBI and HDFC remain operational for government-related transactions, such as tax payments and settlements. The RBI has also cancelled March 31 holiday for agency banks to account for all the government transactions relating to receipts and payments in the Financial Year 2024-25.
