Primark CEO Paul Marchant has resigned immediately following an investigation into alleged inappropriate behavior, according to the Financial Times. Parent company Associated British Foods said Marchant cooperated with the probe, acknowledged poor judgment, and accepted that his actions did not meet the company’s standards. ABF launched the investigation after receiving a complaint about Marchant’s behavior in a social setting. CEO George Weston said he was “immensely disappointed” and emphasized the need for a respectful workplace culture. Shares of ABF fell 4% in morning trading.
