A massive explosion sent a fireball into the sky after a blaze erupted in a detached garage and spread to a home in Shawnee, Kansas.
Michael Basler, 36, captured the dramatic scene, hearing “pop, pop, pop” sounds he thought might be bullets or aerosol cans.
No injuries were reported with the cause is still under investigation.
Firefighters responded quickly, with one visibly shaken after a fireball shot higher than the trees.
By morning, scorched vehicles and heavy damage were visible.
"It was insane, man," Basler said.
"Just something I never expected to see, let alone capture on video."
