The Patriotic Front will field 37 candidates in the upcoming general election, falling short of its initial promise to contest all 41 seats.
In a statement released Friday night, the party explained that several of its prospective candidates had faced harassment and intimidation from both government and opposition officials ahead of nomination day. This, the party believes, ultimately led to four candidates deciding against filing their nomination papers.
