In Madhapar, a village situated in Bhuj, Kutch, Ashish Kansara has dedicated his life to preserving this unique art. Even in the face of declining demand for traditional crafts, he remains unwavering in his commitment to maintaining the Rogan art form. The technique involves creating paint from castor oil combined with natural pigments, which is then applied to fabric.

Artisans skilled in Rogan art use a thin metal stylus to apply freehand designs, often inspired by elements of nature. Common motifs include birds, flowers, and trees, showcasing the artisans’ deep connection to the environment and heritage.
