Kennedy meets with parents of second child to die of measles in Texas outbreak
Robert F. Kennedy met on Sunday, April 6, with the parents of an 8-year-old girl with measles who died in Texas, the second child to die from the infectious disease in recent weeks, the US Secretary for Health and Human Services said in a post on his X account.
Kennedy, who has been labeled a vaccine skeptic and expressed concerns about the MMR (Measles, Mumps and Rubella) vaccine during an exclusive interview with Reuters in 2024, also wrote, "The most effective way to prevent the spread of measles is the MMR vaccine."
Kennedy has been criticized for making false medical claims, including that vaccines are linked to autism. He opposed state and federal restrictions imposed during the Covid-19 pandemic and was accused of spreading misinformation about the virus.
