You can do this with any combat style period and Cerberus gives you about 7,000 points minimum for beating him which is a quick way to level up styles early on. This is a well-known glitch, but what happens is in that corner, Cerberus messes up and thinks you are in the other corner. Two of the heads will constantly think you are on the other side, but one of the heads will attack you no matter what. Here is your goal because of this, target the head with the yellowish-greenish eyes with Ebony and Ivory. Just keep it going, if that head switches to the middle, be ready to dodge. Otherwise, just keep it going and get back into that corner. Seriously, stay there. Sometimes if the yellowish-greenish eyes one hits you, you will be tracked for the rest of the fight, but that corner does have a second defense, it is almost impossible for Cerberus to hit you there. The blue eyed one can with the horizontal attack, but the orangey eyed one cannot. Also, the feet attacks that summon icicles from the ground cannot hit you either. If you are in the right spot though like I am in this video, you should be fine.
The other side mostly works as well, and seems to suffer from the same glitch, but I have gotten tracked there and more of the attacks seem to be able to hit if for some reason you are targeted. I think there is more wall blocking you on the right-hand side than the left-hand side, but that could be me imagining things.
Lastly, Ebony and Ivory will take a lot longer to do this before being leveled up which means you will have to worry about dodging Cerberus more frequently, but it is still extremely effective even if you are fairly new, versus trying to use the fancier faster methods. If you can get to him like I do in this video, S Ranking will also get you a lot of Red Orbs.
Anyway, just some information that may help you if you are either struggling with the game, had issues with the S Rank, or just want to for fun. I have beaten Devil May Cry 3 so many times back in the PlayStation 2 days, so I am just toying around.
