Apple plans to shift more iPhone production to India to avoid Trump’s new China tariffs, according to Benzinga. The new tariffs could increase the iPhone 16 Pro Max price by over 40%, pushing it from over $2,000. The Wall Street Journal reported that Apple may export more India-made iPhones to the U.S. to counter the projected $300 added hardware cost per device. Redirecting output could meet half of U.S. demand. Despite growing Indian production, Apple’s primary base remains in China due to its supply chain strength. The iPhone accounts for about half of Apple’s revenue. Apple shares have fallen over 25% in 2025.
