As the military stood on the steps of the National Assembly, legislators struck down the declaration then impeached Yoon weeks later. Now that the Constitutional Court has ruled on the impeachment, ousting Yoon for what it called a “betrayal of trust” and violation of the law, the divided nation is set for a new presidential election in just 60 days.
