In a disturbing attempt to disrupt communal harmony ahead of Friday prayers, a severed head of a banned animal was found inside a bag at Jama Masjid in Agra. The incident, which sparked outrage among the Muslim community, was reported on April 11.
Swift police action led to the arrest of the accused, Nazaruddin, within four hours. He was identified through CCTV footage, and interrogation is ongoing. Police are examining his call detail records (CDR) to determine if others were involved or influencing him.
A case has been registered under relevant sections. The Police Commissioner deployed a 100-member team, including SOG, to ensure a thorough investigation and maintain law and order.
