Sonic The Hedgehog OVA (Original Video Animation), also known as Sonic The Hedgehog - The Movie in the US, is a direct-to-video animation made by Studio Pierrot released in 1996 in Japan as a two-episode OVA and in 1999 as a 54 minute movie in the US.
This movie may be considered by most a lost gem, considering it was last seen on an American 2004 home re-release.
There is no known film copy of this movie, meaning the only master available to the public is the DVD quality version with some serious color distortions and a kind of yellow-ish tone.
This is a 4K upscale and color correction of the movie made in the course of only 3 weeks, trying to recapture the Japanese release color grading and making it pop out a little more.
