Myanmar Frees Almost 4,900 Prisoners To Mark New Year

Myanmar's military junta released thousands of prisoners on Thursday in a mass amnesty to mark the country’s traditional New Year. Deposed civilian leader Aung San Suu Kyi was not among those pardoned.
