Residents in Taman Chi Liung, Klang, have voiced frustration over what they described as “cosmetic upgrades” to drainage systems in flood-prone areas, claiming the improvements do little to enhance the network’s actual capacity to manage heavy rainfall and water flow.
When asked regarding the matter on Thursday (April 24), Selangor State Youth, Sports, Entrepreneurship, and Disaster Management Committee chairman Mohd Najwan Halimi said the issue was discussed during the Selangor State Executive Council meeting on Wednesday.
He added that the Mentri Besar has directed all exco members to visit their constituencies and ensure drainage projects in flood hot spots are expedited.
