Hubble space telescope turns 35
NASA marks the 35th anniversary of the Hubble Space Telescope with the release of four new images capturing celestial wonders from Mars to distant galaxies. Launched on April 24, 1990, aboard the space shuttle Discovery, Hubble has revolutionized our understanding of the universe and remains a vital tool in astronomical research. The anniversary images showcase Mars, a vibrant planetary nebula, the star-forming Rosette Nebula, and the flocculent spiral galaxy NGC 5335. Hubble continues to work in tandem with the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST), providing complementary observations that enhance our understanding of the cosmos.
