Alyansa alarmed over alleged China interference in May midterm polls
The administration’s Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas on April 25, 2025 expressed alarm over alleged foreign interference in the midterm elections in May, saying that the future of the Philippines must be determined by Filipinos only. In pre-rally press conference in Dagupan, Pangasinan, Sen. Francis Tolentino urged Foreign Affairs Secretary Enrique Manalo to summon Chinese Ambassador to the Philippines Huang Xilian to explain allegations of Chin's involvement. Tolentino also presented a P930,000 check that the Chinese Embassy allegedly paid to a local marketing solutions firm in 2023 to operate a network of 'keyboard warriors.'
