The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) seized assets worth RM177mil in the first quarter of this year — its largest haul to date, said chief commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki.
Speaking at the MACC media awards night on Friday (April 25), Azam said the seizure included cash and gold bars linked to investigations involving former prime minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
He added that MACC is intensifying its focus on high-profile, public interest cases, and thanked the media for supporting anti-corruption efforts and promoting integrity.
