On Friday (April 25), the Singapore Democratic Party (SDP) held a rally at Beacon Primary School for the Bukit Panjang Single Member Constituency (SMC), where SDP chairman Paul Tambyah, is contesting against the People's Action Party's (PAP) Liang Eng Hwa.
Several speakers criticised recent remarks by PAP’s Ong Ye Kung, who claimed that SDP leader Chee Soon Juan, had "abandoned" Bukit Batok residents to run in Sembawang West SMC.
