Palo Alto Networks announced Monday it will acquire the startup Protect AI for an undisclosed amount, according to CNBC. The startup is focused on securing artificial intelligence and machine learning applications. Protect AI’s team and solutions will be integrated into Palo Alto’s new Prisma AIRS platform, expanding its AI security offerings. Palo Alto said businesses need specialized defenses to safeguard rapidly developed AI ecosystems, introducing new vulnerabilities beyond traditional cybersecurity risks. The deal is expected to close by the first quarter of fiscal year 2026.
