Playing Colonel Tyger in The Battle of Shangganling was one of the hardest roles I've had in my career. Mostly because of how this show was a retelling of an actual event in history, but also because I wanted to make sure I did a much better job that I did as Captain Williams in Snipers!
Looking back over the footage now, I am happy with most of my performance. The second half (from the party onwards) is much better than the first half I think, but that might be in part because I wasn't used to playing characters for so long and the fcat filming was split out over several months, with just a day or two here and there.
In any case, it was definitely a learning experience, and hopefully I've continued to progress and improve since then! 😎
