Karimganj (Assam), May 02, 2025 (ANI): Voting is underway for the first phase of panchayat polls in Assam. The first phase of panchayat election is being held in 14 districts of the state, namely Sonitpur, Biswanath, Dhemaji, Lakhimpur, Tinsukia, Dibrugarh, Sivasagar, Charaideo, Jorhat, Majuli, Golaghat, Cachar, Hailakandi and Sribhumi. The second phase of polls will be held on May 7 in remaining 13 districts and the counting of votes will be held on May 11.
