Employers must now be present at exit points when repatriating foreign workers, following a decision by the Home and Human Resources Ministries to improve oversight of the Check Out Memo process.
Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail announced that following the joint committee meeting on Thursday (May 8), and warned that non-compliance may lead to restrictions on future immigration dealings.
The government also approved intersectoral transfers for foreign workers, aligning with international labour standards and practices in developed countries.
