Party wing leaders within the unity government coalition have been urged to avoid emotional or speculative comments regarding electoral seat negotiations, says Umno president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
Responding to recent criticism from Umno Youth chief Dr Muhamad Akmal Saleh over seat-sharing discussions, Zahid advised youth wings — including Umno Youth and its counterparts in Amanah — to refrain from issuing premature statements based on personal opinions or analysis.
His remarks follow tensions between Umno Youth and Amanah Youth leaders over proposed seat allocations ahead of the upcoming Melaka state election.
