NASA’s Juno spacecraft has captured breathtaking new images of Jupiter’s swirling clouds during its 72nd close flyby on 7 May.

The high-resolution photos reveal dramatic jet streams and cyclonic storms in the gas giant’s turbulent northern hemisphere.

Juno, now fully operational after an April safe mode event, came within thousands of kilometres of the planet during the pass.

The mission continues to provide fresh data and visuals, deepening our understanding of Jupiter’s dynamic atmosphere and its role in the solar system.
