Black Mesa Definitive Edition is a fan-made reimagining of Valve Software's classic science fiction first-person shooter, Half-Life. The game was developed by Crowbar Collective and released on May 5, 2015.[1] It is a remake of the original Half-Life game, with updated graphics, gameplay, and sound.
Gameplay and Features
The game follows the story of Gordon Freeman, a theoretical physicist at the Black Mesa Research Facility, as he navigates through an interdimensional alien invasion and a bloodthirsty military clean-up crew.[2] The game features a completely reimagined and refined single-player campaign, including all-new and expanded Xen levels, 19 chapters of gameplay, and mind-blowing graphics and effects.
The game also includes a multiplayer mode, where players can frag their friends across 10 iconic maps from the Half-Life universe.[3] Additionally, players can create their own mods, models, and maps with the Black Mesa Source SDK and share them with the community on the Steam Workshop.
