Punjab Kings (PBKS) registered an easy 10-run win against the inaugural champions, Rajasthan Royals (RR), in the IPL 2025 match played at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on Sunday, May 19. Batting first, PBKS lost three wickets inside the first powerplay. Priyansh Arya (9), Prabhsimran Singh (21) and Mitchell Owen (0) couldn't provide a good start for the visitors. Captain Shreyas Iyer and Nehal Wadhera stitched a crucial 67-run stand before the PBKS skipper was dismissed for 30 off 25 balls. Nehal Wadhera top-scored with 70 off 37 deliveries, whereas Shashank Singh (59*) played a blistering innings that guided PBKS to a daunting total of 219/5. For RR, Tushar Deshpande (2/37), Kwena Maphaka (1/32), Riyan Parag (1/26) and Akash Madhwal (1/48) were the wicket-takers. In response, Rajasthan Royals were restricted to 209/7. Yashasvi Jaiswal (50 off 25 balls), Vaibhav Suryavanshi (40 off 15 deliveries) and Dhruv Jurel (53 off 31 balls) played fighting knocks as the rest of the batters failed to contribute with the bat. Harpreet Brar (3/22) produced a match-winning spell. Speedsters Marco Jansen (2/41) and Azmatullah Omarzai (2/44) helped PBKS register a victory.
