Taiwan's former President Tsai Ing-wen has publicly addressed the island’s wave of legislative recall campaigns for the first time, calling it “part of democracy.” Tsai made the remarks during a speech at the University of Cambridge as part of her private tour of the United Kingdom. Her visit includes engagements with Taiwanese students and academic leaders, including a stop at SOAS, University of London, home to one of Europe’s leading Taiwan studies centers.
