Bhubaneswar (Odisha), May 20, 2025 (ANI): Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Police Commissioner Suresh Dev Datta Singh on May 20 informed that seven accused were arrested for kidnapping Soumya Ranjan Behera. “31-year-old youth Soumya Ranjan Behera was missing from Bayalis Mouza area in Cuttack district on May 18. His family lodged a complaint at the local police station at 10:00 pm. When we checked his background, we found that he was earlier kidnapped temporarily in Kendrapara in 2022…We used Human Intelligence and many teams in that case. We also found that Somya was engaged in trading activities till 3 years and some customers were dissatisfied with that… After forming teams, we started an investigation and rescued Soumya Ranjan, who was kept confined at a house in Kendrapara and was chained.… We have arrested seven accused in this connection…,” said Suresh Dev Datta Singh.
