Karnataka, Bengaluru: Deputy CM D. K. Shivakumar says, "Regarding the Ranya Rao ED case, I just spoke to Dr. Parmeshwara. There was a marriage. You see, we are in public life and run institutions many of us do. As a gesture people often give gifts during such occasions. Sometimes it’s one rupee, sometimes ten rupees, sometimes five lakhs or ten lakhs. I believe he might have also given a gift for the marriage. I don’t think there is anything wrong with that. No minister or politician would support any wrongdoing. Whatever the lady has done is a personal matter and it is wrong. The law will take its own course."
