Malaysia is running out of space to bury its waste. With landfills overflowing and recycling rates still low, the Government is turning to Waste-to-Energy—or WTE—technology as a possible fix. At its core, WTE is a modern form of incineration: it burns waste at high temperatures but recovers the energy to generate electricity or heat. Not all waste incineration does that.
