Govt allows purchase of up to 10 kilos of rice monthly for minimum wage earners
Assistant Secretary Arnel de Mesa, Agriculture spokesman, tells a press conference on May 28, 2025, that the Department of Agriculture (DA) will allow minimum wage earners to buy up to P10 kilos rice monthly under the P20 per kilo rice program 'Benteng Bigas Meron Na' starting in June. He said the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) has identified 120,000 beneficiaries from the sector nationwide.
