SpaceX launched its ninth Starship test flight on Tuesday, according to ABC News. The launch demonstrated the rocket’s ability to reach orbit for the first time, but the uncrewed mission ended with a fiery disintegration. A propellant leak caused a loss of attitude control after the upper stage entered suborbital space, leaving the craft spinning and ultimately reentering Earth's atmosphere. Most of the vehicles burned up, with the remaining debris falling into the Indian Ocean. SpaceX called the event a “rapid unscheduled disassembly,” emphasizing that the mission provided key data for future improvements. The company added that frequent test flights accelerate learning and design improvements needed to make Starship fully and rapidly reusable.
