Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing will open a chip-design center in Munich in the third quarter, according to The Wall Street Journal. The hub was selected for its proximity to European clients and aims to support automotive, industrial, and AI clients, leveraging its proximity to European customers. The new Munich center will join Taiwan Semiconductor's existing network of nine design centers across Taiwan, China, Japan, Canada, and the U.S. Taiwan Semiconductor shares are down 2% this year as it increases U.S. investment in response to Trump-era tariffs, despite lacking added subsidies. CFO Wendell Huang said TSM has not seen customer shifts from tariffs yet but remains cautious due to potential risks and will monitor market demand closely.
