Former PKR deputy president Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli has warned that Tengku Zafrul Abdul Aziz’s possible move from Umno to PKR could trigger a wave of political defections that the unity government may struggle to manage.
When asked on Sunday (June 1) whether there were any long-term plans for Tengku Zafrul within PKR, Rafizi said the matter was not within his purview and that his resignation was a personal decision as both an MP and a grassroots leader.
Responding to a question on whether PKR would welcome reciprocal defections if other parties began targeting its leaders, Rafizi said such matters should be addressed by the party’s top leadership.
