Govt to supply DSWD food program with P20/kilo rice
Social Welfare Secretary Rex Gatchalian says on June 3, 2025 that the government is integrating the sale of P20 per kilo rice into the Department of Social Welfare and Development’s (DSWD) Walang Gutom Program to make it more accessible to 'food poor' beneficiaries. At a Palace press briefing, Gatchalian said the Department of Agriculture would supply P20 per kilo of rice to accredited retailers of the DSWD for their food program.
