DES: Delhi, June 4, 2025 (ANI): On rescue operations in rain and flood-hit Northeast, NDRF DIG Mohsen Shahedi said, "We have pre-positioned 23 teams in the Northeast states, including Sikkim, where there are two teams. In Sikkim, the situation is a bit difficult. Some of the passengers are stranded in Lachen and Lachung. There was also a landslide near Lachen. Our thrust is on saving lives and creating a safe exit passage for stranded tourists...Due to floods, there have been landslides in Arunachal and Manipur, where we had to conduct evacuations. Right now, the situation is normal, and our teams are on standby. As per IMD report, the weather is expected to improve."
