Walmart is expanding its drone delivery service to 100 additional stores across Atlanta, Charlotte, Houston, Orlando, and Tampa, according to CNBC. Partnering with drone operator Wing, the service delivers items within six miles in 30 minutes or less and has completed over 150,000 deliveries since 2021. The expansion builds on Walmart’s strategy to leverage its 4,600-store footprint for faster fulfillment and compete with Amazon’s convenience. Customers often use drones for urgent needs like cold medicine, eggs, or ice cream.
